Hobby Boss 1/48 Aircraft - P-51D Mustang Yellow Nose - 85808

The Hobby Boss 1/48 P-51D Mustang Yellow Nose (85808) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the North American P-51D Mustang, the American Second World War long range escort fighter, finished with a yellow nose.

With its Merlin engine and bubble canopy, the P-51D escorted bombers deep into Germany from 1944, and fighter groups used bright nose colours to identify their aircraft. It was the most widely produced Mustang version, and its range allowed it to escort heavy bombers all the way to Berlin and back. Brightly coloured noses and spinners made fighter groups easy to identify, and the yellow nose remains one of the most popular Mustang finishes for modellers.
