Hobby Boss 1/48 Aircraft - MiG-31BM with Kh-47M2 Kinzhal - 81770

The Hobby Boss 1/48 MiG-31BM with Kh-47M2 (81770) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Russian MiG-31 interceptor modified to carry the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air launched ballistic missile.

Russia adapted a number of MiG-31 interceptors as launch platforms for the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, a large air launched ballistic missile carried on the centreline, and this kit depicts that configuration. Revealed in 2018, these modified aircraft (often called MiG-31K) have been widely reported in recent conflicts. The Kh-47M2 is understood to be derived from the Iskander ground launched ballistic missile and is reported to reach hypersonic speeds. Displaying the large missile beneath the long Foxhound fuselage makes for a striking and very topical model.
