About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 (81792) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, the German Luftwaffe single seat fighter most associated with the 1940 Battle of Britain.
The E-4 introduced improved wing cannon and a more angular, heavily framed canopy, and it was flown by many of the Luftwaffe's leading fighter pilots over southern England. The Bf 109E combined a powerful inverted V12 engine with a compact airframe, and the Emil fought on equal terms with the Spitfire over southern England in the summer of 1940. Many E-4s later served as fighter bombers, and the type is a cornerstone of any Battle of Britain collection.
