About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf109E-3 (81791) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 "Emil", the German Luftwaffe's principal single seat fighter of the early Second World War.
The E-3 added wing mounted 20 mm cannon to the Bf 109 and was the main Luftwaffe fighter during the 1940 campaign in France and the Battle of Britain. The Bf 109E was powered by the DB 601 inverted V12 engine and fought on equal terms with the Spitfire and Hurricane in 1940. The E-3 was the variant most numerous during the early campaigns, making it a classic subject for Battle of France and Battle of Britain collections.
