About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 LKW 7t mil gl LARS2 (85521) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the German Light Artillery Rocket System LARS 2, a Cold War Bundeswehr multiple rocket launcher mounted on the MAN 7 tonne cross country truck.
Introduced in the 1980s, LARS 2 carried 36 rockets of 110mm calibre with a range of about 14 km, and it was replaced by MLRS in the late 1990s. Each truck carried its two rocket packs on a traversing mount behind the cab, and LARS units provided rapid area fire for German divisions during the Cold War. The system was a distinctive part of the Bundeswehr's artillery and makes an eye catching addition to any collection of West German vehicles.
