About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 Leopard C2 (Canadian MBT) (84503) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Canadian Leopard C2 main battle tank, which combined Canadian Leopard C1 hulls with surplus German Leopard 1A5 turrets.
The upgrade, carried out around 2000, gave Canadian armoured regiments modern thermal sights and fire control, and the C2 served until the arrival of the Leopard 2. Canadian Leopard C2s deployed to Afghanistan in the 2000s, where some were fitted with MEXAS add on armour and mine ploughs. The C2 programme was a cost effective way to modernise the fleet by reusing proven hulls with newer turrets, and it remains a popular subject for modellers interested in Canadian armour. This kit builds the C2 without MEXAS armour; the MEXAS version is Hobby Boss 84557.
