About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 Jagdpanzer III/IV (Long E) (80152) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of a proposed German Second World War tank destroyer based on the planned unified Panzer III and IV chassis. Its sloping casemate and long gun follow late war German tank destroyer design.
The Einheitsfahrgestell III/IV programme was intended to standardise armoured vehicle production in 1944 and 1945, but no examples were completed before the war ended. The low casemate layout followed proven German designs such as the Jagdpanzer IV, which mounted its gun in a fixed, well sloped superstructure to keep the vehicle small and hard to hit. A long barrelled gun of this type could outrange most Allied armour of the period, making the concept a logical next step had production been possible.
