Hobby Boss 1/32 Aircraft - Ilyushin Il-2M3 Ground Attack Aircraft - 83204

The Hobby Boss 1/32 Ilyushin Il-2M3 Ground Attack Aircraft (83204) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Soviet Il-2M3 Sturmovik, the two seat armoured ground attack aircraft of the Second World War. It depicts the version with swept outer wing panels.

With an armoured tub protecting engine and crew, the Il-2 attacked German armour across the Eastern Front and became the most produced military aircraft in history. More than 36,000 Il-2s were built, and German troops reportedly called it the Black Death. The Il-2M3 added a rear gunner after early losses to fighters attacking from behind, and its armoured nose and robust structure allowed crews to survive heavy damage. At 1/32 it makes a substantial and impressive model.
