About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 IDF Namer IFV (84524) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Israeli Namer, a modern heavy infantry fighting vehicle built on the Merkava tank chassis for the Israel Defense Forces.
The Namer keeps the Merkava's front mounted engine and heavy armour so infantry travel with the protection of a tank crew. Its name combines Nagmash and Merkava and also means leopard in Hebrew. Namer vehicles entered Israeli service in 2008, and they have since been used by infantry brigades in operations around Gaza. The vehicle carries a crew of three and a squad of infantry, and it is armed with a remotely operated weapon station. Its sheer bulk and slab sided armour make the Namer a commanding presence beside other modern vehicles in a collection, and the large surfaces suit dusty, sun bleached weathering.
