About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/72 IDF Merkava Mk.IIID (LIC) (82917) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Merkava Mk.IIID in low intensity conflict configuration, an Israeli main battle tank.
This kit depicts the Merkava III as modified for low intensity conflict, with extra protection and fittings for urban and counter insurgency operations. The Mk.III itself introduced a 120mm gun and improved suspension, and the LIC kit adapted it for the very different threats of the 2000s. The Merkava line places the engine at the front of the hull to add protection for the crew, and a rear hatch allows the crew or infantry to enter and leave under cover. The small 1/72 scale suits wargamers and compact displays.
