About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 Hungarian 44M Tas Rohamlöveg (83898) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Hungarian 44M Tas Rohamlöveg, a Second World War assault gun project based on the 44M Tas heavy tank.
Designed at the Weiss Manfréd works to face Soviet armour, the project ended when the factory was bombed in 1944, and no complete vehicle survived. The 44M Tas heavy tank itself was intended to match the German Panther, and the assault gun version was planned to carry a heavy gun in a fixed casemate. Hungary had already fielded the successful Zrínyi assault guns, and the Tas Rohamlöveg was meant to provide a much more powerful successor. Building it lets modellers explore a fascinating what if chapter of Hungarian armour development, and it makes an unusual companion to a 44M Tas tank model in a Hungarian display.
