About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/700 U-Boat Type VIIB (87008) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the German Kriegsmarine Type VIIB U-boat of the early Second World War. It can be assembled full hull or waterline.
Twenty four Type VIIBs were built, and they carried several of the most famous U-boat commanders. Günther Prien's U-47 penetrated Scapa Flow to sink HMS Royal Oak in 1939, and Otto Kretschmer's U-99 became the top scoring boat of the war. The VIIB improved on the original Type VIIA with greater fuel capacity, giving longer range into the Atlantic, and paved the way for the mass produced Type VIIC.

Glue and paint are needed to finish the model; both are sold separately. A grey and white colour scheme with simple weathering suits early war boats well.
