About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/700 U-Boat Type IXC (87007) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the German Kriegsmarine Type IXC long range U-boat of the Second World War. It offers a full hull or waterline build.
The Type IXC carried extra fuel to reach distant waters, operating off the American coast, in the Caribbean and as far as the Indian Ocean. Over 50 were built, followed by the improved IXC/40. Their extended endurance made them ideal for operations far from their French bases, including patrols in the Caribbean, off West Africa and in the Gulf of Mexico, where they sank many unescorted merchant ships.

- Injection moulded plastic parts
- New tooling released in 2007
