Hobby Boss 1/72 Military - German Panzerjäger Triebwagen 51 - 82953

The Hobby Boss 1/72 Panzerjäger Triebwagen 51 (82953) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the German Second World War self propelled armoured railcar armed with the 7.5cm KwK L/48 tank gun. Four sections of track bed are included for display.

Unlike older armoured trains, these railcars needed no separate locomotive and could tackle enemy armour while protecting vital rail routes. Only a handful were completed in 1944. Railcars like this could patrol threatened lines independently, carrying their own crew and weapons, and reacting quickly to partisan attacks or advancing Soviet tanks. Very few photographs exist, which makes the subject a fascinating one for railway and armour enthusiasts alike. The included track bed sections make an instant display base for the finished model.
