About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 German Sd.Kfz.171 Pz.Kpfw. V Panther Ausf.A (84830) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Panther Ausf.A, the German Army's Second World War medium tank armed with a long 7.5 cm gun.
Entering production in 1943, the Ausf.A introduced the ball mounted hull machine gun and a cast commander's cupola, and it fought on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. The Panther combined sloped armour, a high velocity 7.5 cm gun and good mobility, and it is widely seen as one of the most effective tank designs of the war. The Ausf.A was produced in large numbers and saw heavy action in Normandy and on the Eastern Front.
