About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 German Flakpanzer V Ausf.A (84832) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of a German Second World War anti aircraft tank design based on the Panther Ausf.A chassis.
Facing Allied air superiority, German planners studied mounting powerful anti aircraft guns in a large turret on the Panther hull. The best known scheme, the Coelian, never progressed beyond the design and mock up stage. Germany fielded several Flakpanzers on older chassis such as the Panzer IV, but a Panther based design promised much greater protection and mobility. The Panther hull with its large anti aircraft turret creates a striking what if subject that contrasts well with standard Panthers in a display.
