Hobby Boss 1/72 Military - German BP-42 Geschutzwagen - 82923

The Hobby Boss 1/72 German BP-42 Geschutzwagen (82923) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of a turreted artillery car from the German BP-42 armoured train of the Second World War.

Germany's standard BP-42 armoured train was built around a locomotive with identical halves front and rear, each with turreted artillery cars, and this kit models one of those gun wagons. The artillery cars carried their guns in ten sided rotating turrets, giving the trains real firepower against partisans and enemy armour on the Eastern Front. Armoured trains such as the BP-42 were used mainly to protect railway lines in occupied territory from partisan attack. A complete train included anti aircraft cars, command cars and tank carrying wagons as well as the gun cars.
