About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 German 6th Army Mamaev Hill (84415) is an injection moulded plastic figure set of German Second World War soldiers of the 6th Army, themed on the fighting for Mamayev Kurgan at Stalingrad in 1942.
Mamayev Kurgan, the hill overlooking Stalingrad, changed hands repeatedly; the 6th Army was later encircled and destroyed, making its men a poignant Eastern Front subject. Under General Paulus, the 6th Army pushed into Stalingrad in the late summer of 1942 and fought street by street through the city. The Soviet counter offensive of November 1942 encircled the army, and its remnants surrendered in early February 1943, one of the decisive turning points of the war. Rubble, broken brickwork and scorched timber make a fitting setting for these figures.
