About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/72 German 280mm K5(E) Railway Gun Leopold (82903) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Krupp K5(E), the German 280mm railway gun of the Second World War.
The Krupp K5(E) was the most successful German railway gun of the Second World War, and this kit recreates one of its most famous examples. Leopold and its sister gun Robert shelled the Allied beachhead at Anzio in 1944, earning the nickname 'Anzio Annie', and Leopold is preserved today in the United States. Each gun weighed around 218 tonnes and could hurl a 255 kg shell more than 60 km, making the K5(E) a formidable long range weapon. Displayed on its track sections, the model makes a dramatic centrepiece.
