About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 French R35 Light Infantry Tank (83806) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the French Renault R35, the most numerous French tank of 1940. It features an interior with opening hatches.
Designed to accompany infantry, the R35 was small, well armoured for its size and carried a short 37mm gun in a one man turret. Many were later captured and reused by Germany. Thousands were built, and R35s served with French units in 1940 as well as with Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia. Captured examples were reused by Germany as tractors, training vehicles and self propelled gun conversions. Its tiny size and riveted cast turret make it an appealing early war subject for a 1940 diorama.
