About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 F4U-1D Corsair (80384) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Vought F4U-1D Corsair, a late Second World War American carrier based fighter bomber.
The F4U-1D added water injection for extra power and pylons for bombs, rockets and drop tanks. It put the Corsair aboard US fleet carriers in numbers for close support at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The Corsair remained in production long after the war and served again over Korea, making it one of the longest serving piston fighters in US service. The F4U-1D is a popular choice for modellers who want to show a Corsair loaded with underwing stores in carrier markings.
