About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/48 F/A-18D Hornet (80322) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18D Hornet, the two seat version of the American carrier based multirole fighter.
The US Navy used the D model mainly for training, while the US Marine Corps flew it for night attack and airborne forward air control with its all weather squadrons. The D model keeps the full combat capability of the single seat Hornet, with the rear cockpit used by a weapons systems officer in Marine Corps service. The Hornet first flew in 1978 and served with the US Navy and Marine Corps for decades, as well as with several export air forces.
