About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/72 F/A-18A Hornet (80268) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A, the original production twin engined multirole Hornet of the US Navy and Canadian Forces.
This kit depicts the original production version of McDonnell Douglas's multirole carrier jet. Entering service in the early 1980s, the A model replaced both the F-4 Phantom and A-7 Corsair II, and it was adopted abroad by Canada as the CF-188 and flown for many years by the US Navy's Blue Angels display team. The Hornet's twin General Electric F404 engines, fly by wire controls and glass cockpit were advanced for the time, and the type flew combat missions over Libya in 1986 and the Gulf in 1991.
