Hobby Boss 1/48 Aircraft - CH-47A Chinook - 81772

The Hobby Boss 1/48 CH-47A Chinook (81772) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Boeing Vertol CH-47A Chinook, the first production version of the US Army's tandem rotor heavy lift helicopter.

Entering service in the early 1960s, the CH-47A moved troops, artillery and supplies across Vietnam and began a career for the Chinook that continues today. The Chinook's twin tandem rotors let it carry heavy loads without a tail rotor, and in Vietnam it lifted artillery, recovered downed aircraft and resupplied remote firebases. Its large, boxy fuselage makes an impressive model and a striking centrepiece for a Vietnam era collection.
