Hobby Boss 1/72 Aircraft - Bf 109 G-2 Trop - 80224

The Hobby Boss 1/72 Bf 109 G-2 Trop (80224) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2 Trop, a tropicalised Luftwaffe fighter of the Second World War. The Trop version is recognisable by its dust filter on the supercharger intake.

The G-2 was the first widely used Gustav, and its Trop variant served in North Africa and the Mediterranean during 1942. Units such as JG 27 flew it over the Western Desert, where sand filters and desert camouflage were essential. The Gustav series introduced a more powerful DB 605 engine and became the most numerous Bf 109 variant, with tens of thousands built by the end of the war.
