Hobby Boss 1/72 Aircraft - Bf 109 E-4 Trop - 80261

The Hobby Boss 1/72 Bf 109 E-4 Trop (80261) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4 Trop, the tropicalised Emil fighter used by the Luftwaffe in North Africa. It suits desert themed collections in 1/72.

When JG 27 arrived in Libya in 1941, its Emils were fitted with sand filters and survival equipment for the harsh conditions. The Bf 109 E had already fought through Poland, France and the Battle of Britain before heading south. Emils in the desert typically wore sand coloured upper surfaces with light blue undersides, and many carried white theatre bands around the rear fuselage.
