Hobby Boss 1/72 Aircraft - AH-1S Cobra Attack Helicopter - 87225

The Hobby Boss 1/72 AH-1S Cobra Attack Helicopter (87225) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Bell AH-1S Cobra, the upgraded anti armour version of the first dedicated attack helicopter. Markings are included for Israeli and Japanese Cobras.

The AH-1S brought TOW missiles and improved systems to the Cobra line and was adopted by the US Army and many allies, including Israel, where Cobras saw extensive combat, and Japan, which built them under licence. The single engine Cobra was the world's first purpose built attack helicopter, born from experience in Vietnam. Its narrow fuselage made it a hard target, and the AH-1S standard introduced flat plate canopy glazing and improved avionics. Israeli Cobras were nicknamed Tzefa, meaning viper, and served for decades before retiring.
