The Panzer III Ausf.N was a close-support variant of Germany's workhorse medium tank, re-armed with the short-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 37 L/24 gun taken from early Panzer IVs to provide infantry with high-explosive fire support, while retaining the Ausf.N's thicker frontal armour. This release depicts a vehicle serving with the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK), Rommel's desert army that fought the British and Commonwealth forces across Libya and Egypt in 1941-43.
