About this kit
The Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse, later renamed Nashorn ("Rhinoceros"), was a German WWII tank destroyer built by mounting the powerful 8.8cm PaK 43/1 anti-tank gun on the Geschützwagen III/IV chassis, a hybrid running gear combining Panzer III and Panzer IV components. Lightly armoured and open-topped, it relied on its long-range gun to engage Allied tanks from beyond their effective range on both the Eastern and Western Fronts.
This Dragon 1/72 kit reproduces the tall, slab-sided superposed fighting compartment and long PaK 43 barrel with fine slide-moulded detail, and uses Dragon's Neo Track system, individual-link workable tracks engineered specifically for 1/72 scale to give far more realistic sag and detail than a simple rubber-band track.
A decal sheet for authentic Wehrmacht markings and full instructions are included, letting modellers build an accurate example of one of the war's most effective long-range tank killers.
Recommended for WWII German armour enthusiasts wanting a distinctive tank destroyer to complement a small-scale Ostfront or Normandy collection.
