About this kit
The LCM(3) (Landing Craft, Mechanized, Mark 3) was the workhorse US Navy landing craft used to ferry tanks and vehicles directly onto invasion beaches, including during the D-Day landings in Normandy. This combination kit pairs the landing craft with an M4A1 Sherman tank fitted with a deep wading kit, the tall air-intake and exhaust trunking that let Shermans "wade" ashore through deep water without flooding their engines.
Dragon's 1/72 kit reproduces the LCM(3)'s open ramp-bow hull and crew positions alongside a fully detailed M4A1 Sherman, complete with the distinctive canvas-covered wading trunks rising above the turret and engine deck that were a signature sight of the Normandy invasion fleet.
The two-part combination lets modellers recreate an iconic beach-landing scene straight from the box, with decals provided for both the landing craft and the Sherman's US Army markings.
