About this kit
The Panzer IV Ausf.J was the final production version of Germany's most numerous wartime tank, introduced in 1944 as the design was simplified to keep pace with wartime output demands. Early-production Ausf.J vehicles still carried twin exhaust mufflers and the earlier-style turret hatches before later economy measures - such as deletion of the powered turret traverse in favour of a hand-cranked system - were introduced, and they were typically fitted with the wire-mesh Thoma shields and Schürzen side armour that had become standard on late-war Panzer IVs.
Dragon's 1/72 kit captures this transitional Ausf.J with crisply slide-moulded hull and turret detail, reproducing the appliqué side skirts, stowage bins and exhaust arrangement specific to early-production examples in a scale small enough to build whole panzer companies.
The set includes hull, turret and running-gear parts, a decal sheet for late-war German markings, and an instruction manual for straightforward assembly.
A solid choice for anyone assembling a 1/72 late-war Wehrmacht armoured formation or Normandy/Eastern Front diorama.
