About this kit
The Churchill Mk.III was the first version of Britain's heavily armoured infantry tank to mount a genuinely effective gun, replacing the 2-pounder of the Mk.I/II with a fully welded turret carrying the 6-pounder (57mm) anti-tank gun. Rushed into service, Churchill IIIs formed part of the ill-fated Dieppe Raid in August 1942, where most were lost on the shingle beaches, before the type went on to fight through the Tunisian campaign of 1942-43 in North Africa.
Dragon's 1/72 kit renders the Mk.III's slab-sided hull, distinctive skirted track run and welded turret with sharply moulded detail, using slide-mould technology to keep hull rivets, hatches and stowage crisp at this small scale without resorting to oversimplified shapes.
The kit provides track and running-gear mouldings, a full set of hull and turret components, decals for a Second World War British markings option, and clear assembly instructions.
