The schwerer geländegängiger Einheits-PKW, or Heavy Standard Personnel Vehicle Type 40, was a four-wheel-drive staff and command car built by Horch (Auto Union) as part of Germany's pre-war effort to standardise its military vehicle fleet. Riding on a robust cross-country chassis with independent suspension, it carried officers and radio equipment and remained in Wehrmacht service throughout the war on every front.
Dragon's 1/72 interpretation reproduces the type's boxy open-topped body, spare wheel mounts and exposed chassis with fine slide-moulded detail, capturing the vehicle's distinctive cross-country stance in a footprint small enough for a full staff-car section on the display shelf.
Included are crisp body and chassis components, a decal sheet for period German markings, and a straightforward instruction sheet suited to modellers working in 1/72 scale.
A neat companion piece for command post dioramas or alongside Dragon's other 1/72 German soft-skin and armoured vehicles.
