About this kit
The Sd.Kfz.181 Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf.E, better known as the Tiger I, was the German Army's first purpose-built heavy tank, entering service in 1942 with schwere Panzer-Abteilung units. Armed with the powerful 8.8cm KwK 36 L/56 gun — an adaptation of the famed 88mm anti-aircraft gun — and protected by up to 100mm of frontal armour, it earned a fearsome reputation among Allied tank crews on every front it fought, from North Africa to Normandy and the Eastern Front.
Dragon's 1/72 kit renders the Tiger's boxy, heavily armoured hull and distinctive interleaved road wheels with sharp, slide-moulded panel and weld-seam detail, translating the engineering precision of Dragon's celebrated 1/35 Tiger line into a compact, quick-build format.
The kit includes injection-moulded styrene parts and a decal sheet for authentic markings from one of the Tiger's operational theatres.
An essential subject for any WWII German heavy-armour collection, and a satisfying small-scale build for modellers wanting the Tiger's unmistakable silhouette without the larger footprint of bigger scales.
