About this kit
The Tiger I (Sd.Kfz. 181 Ausf. E) late production variant was Germany's formidable heavy tank of the mid-to-late war years, feared for its thick armour and devastating 8.8cm KwK 36 gun. Late-production examples introduced steel-rimmed "spider" road wheels to ease the chronic wheel shortages of 1944, a revised cast commander's cupola, and a coating of zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste applied to every vertical hull and turret surface.
Dragon's 1/72 scale kit reproduces that zimmerit texture directly in the moulded plastic, so the distinctive ridged coating is present straight from the sprue without any scribing. Fine slide-moulded detail captures the late Tiger's stowage bins, exhaust deflectors and turret stowage boxes in a compact footprint that still holds up to close inspection.
The kit includes a decal sheet for authentic late-war Wehrmacht or Waffen-SS unit markings, letting builders finish the tank in one of several historical schemes.
A great choice for armour collectors who want an accurate, detailed Tiger I on the shelf without the space demands of larger scales.
