Dragon 1/35 Military - 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251/22 Ausf.D W/Night Vision Falke - D6994

The Sd.Kfz.251 half-track was the workhorse of the German Panzergrenadiers, and the /22 variant mounted a 7.5cm PaK40 anti-tank gun directly onto the open-topped Ausf.D hull for a mobile, hard-hitting tank-hunter. This kit depicts the rare night-fighting configuration, fitted with the 'Falke' (Falcon) active infrared equipment developed late in the war to give German forces limited night-combat capability, part of the same infrared programme that produced infrared-equipped Panthers and spotlight-armed half-tracks for coordinated nocturnal armoured actions.

Dragon's kit combines the well-established Ausf.D hull tooling, with its distinctive sloped, riveted armour plates, with specific parts for the PaK40 mounting and the bulky infrared searchlight and periscope equipment unique to this variant, giving modellers a half-track subject rarely seen in other manufacturers' ranges.
