About this kit
The Sd.Kfz.250/3 was the radio-equipped command variant of Germany's light armoured half-track family, and this particular kit depicts "Greif" (Griffin), one of the vehicles used by Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel as a mobile command post during the North African campaign. Fitted with additional long-range radio sets and the distinctive large frame antenna strung above the open-topped fighting compartment, vehicles like Greif let Rommel direct fast-moving panzer operations from close behind the front line, embodying his hands-on leadership style in the desert war.
Dragon's rendering of the compact 250 chassis captures the half-track's angled armoured hull, interleaved road wheels and rubber-block track with the slide-mould accuracy the brand is known for, while the command variant's radio racks, map table and frame antenna mounts are supplied as dedicated, crisply moulded parts.
The kit includes decals specific to Greif's Afrikakorps markings together with a full instruction manual covering the frame antenna and interior radio-equipment assembly.
A famous named vehicle with genuine command-history pedigree, this kit is a natural centrepiece for any Rommel or Afrikakorps display alongside Dragon's wider desert-war range.
