By mid-1943 the Tiger I had matured into the definitive early-war heavy tank, and this release depicts a mid-production example finished with Zimmerit anti-magnetic paste - the ridged coating applied to German armour from late 1943 to defeat Soviet magnetic anti-tank mines. Mid-production Tigers introduced the single-piece cast cupola in place of the earlier drum-shaped commander's hatch, along with other running production refinements over the initial batch of vehicles.

Dragon reproduces the textured Zimmerit coating directly on the slide-moulded hull and turret plates, giving a convincing rendered surface without resorting to a separate paste application, while preserving the crisp weld seams, hatch detail and the tank's distinctive overlapping road wheels underneath.

The kit includes individual track links, full running gear, turret stowage and decal options for mid-war unit markings appropriate to a Zimmerit-coated Tiger.
