About this kit
This kit depicts one of the lesser-known self-propelled rocket-launcher projects studied by Germany during the war, mounting a multiple rocket-launcher (Raketenwerfer) system on the readily available Panzerkampfwagen IV chassis. Vehicles of this type were intended to give German rocket artillery units armoured mobility and protection that the towed and half-track-mounted Nebelwerfer systems lacked, though most such projects remained at the prototype or drawing-board stage rather than reaching mass production.
Dragon builds the vehicle around its well-proven Panzer IV running gear and hull tooling, reproducing the chassis's road wheels, suspension and hull detail with the same slide-mould accuracy used across its Panzer IV range, while adding the specific superstructure and multi-tube rocket launcher assembly unique to this project vehicle.
Track links, launcher tubes and associated stowage are included, along with decal options for a plausible German army finish.
An intriguing "paper panzer" subject built on a familiar and well-engineered chassis, this kit appeals to collectors who enjoy the more obscure experimental and prototype corners of German armoured development alongside their standard-issue Panzer IVs.
