Dragon 1/35 Military - 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf D With 28/32M - D6861

Nicknamed "Stuka zu Fuss" by the troops who used it, this Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D half-track was adapted to carry launch frames on both sides of its armoured body for 28cm heavy explosive or 32cm incendiary rockets. First used in the fighting at Stalingrad and later at Kursk and beyond, these vehicles delivered a devastating short-range bombardment that could flatten buildings and shatter enemy morale, though the exposed launch frames meant the half-track had to be driven close to the target to fire.

Dragon's kit reproduces the classic sloped, multi-angled armour of the Ausf.D hull using slide-mould technology, along with the bulky Wurfrahmen 40 launch frames and a full set of rocket projectiles moulded with recognisable fin and warhead detail. Individually assembled track links and etched-brass parts for the frame mounts and stowage add further realism to the finished model.

A decal sheet for divisional and unit markings is included, along with full instructions covering both the vehicle and the rocket-frame assembly.

This distinctive rocket half-track is a striking centrepiece for any Eastern Front diorama or a stand-out addition to a Sd.Kfz.251 collection.
