About this kit
The Sturmgeschutz III was Germany's most heavily produced armoured fighting vehicle of the Second World War, built on the reliable Panzer III chassis but fitted with a low, turretless casemate superstructure that kept its profile low and its armour thick for the gun it carried. Mounting a 7.5cm cannon, this StuG III served the dual roles of infantry-support assault gun and, as the war progressed, an effective ambush tank destroyer, equipping dedicated Sturmartillerie battalions on every front from North Africa to the streets of Berlin.
Dragon's kit reproduces the StuG's angular welded hull and casemate using slide-mould technology to capture crisp weld seams, the driver's visor and the mantlet along with a finely moulded 7.5cm barrel. Individual track links and photo-etched detail parts for engine grilles, tools and stowage racks bring extra realism to the running gear and hull exterior.
The kit includes a decal sheet covering divisional markings and turret/hull numbers, plus full step-by-step assembly instructions.
A classic and highly recognisable subject, this StuG III kit suits modellers building a Wehrmacht armour collection or a diorama depicting the type's ubiquitous frontline role.
