The Panzerbefehlswagen Panther Ausf.G was the armoured command-tank variant of Germany's formidable Panther medium tank, issued to the staff of Panzer regiment and battalion commanders in the final year of the war. Unlike earlier command tanks that carried dummy guns, the Befehlspanther retained its full 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 main armament, but traded ammunition stowage for an additional long-range FuG 8 radio set, map tables and a distinctive star aerial mounted on the rear engine deck alongside the standard turret whip antenna, letting it coordinate a whole formation while still fighting as a gun tank.
