About this kit
The Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.B was the second production version of Germany's Panzer IV medium tank, built from 1938 in small numbers. It replaced the short-lived Ausf.A's stepped front hull with a single flat glacis plate and a simplified driver's visor, while retaining the short-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 37 L/24 support gun. Ausf.B tanks were among the first Panzer IVs to see combat, taking part in the invasion of Poland in 1939 and the Battle of France in 1940.
Dragon's kit captures this early, boxy silhouette with slide-moulded turret and hull castings that reproduce the vehicle's distinctive riveted and welded construction, cupola and early-pattern road wheels with crisp, accurate detail rarely seen for this transitional variant.
The kit includes markings for early-war Wehrmacht Panzer divisions along with fine photo-etched detail parts, letting builders recreate the look of the Panzerwaffe in its formative campaigns.
Recommended for modellers tracing the developmental history of the Panzer IV family, this intermediate-level kit fills an important early gap alongside Dragon's later-model Panzer IV releases.
