Dragon 1/35 Military - 1/35 Italian Paratroopers Anzio1944 - D6741

Following Italy's 1943 armistice with the Allies, paratroop units loyal to the Fascist Italian Social Republic continued fighting alongside German forces, and elements of the Folgore/Nembo paratroop formations were committed to the defence of the Anzio-Nettuno beachhead during the Allied landings and subsequent fighting of early 1944. This figure set depicts Italian paratroopers as they appeared in that campaign, wearing their distinctive jump smocks and equipment.

Dragon's 1/35 figure engineering delivers crisply sculpted poses with natural, animated stances and finely moulded uniform and webbing detail, capturing the specific look of Italian airborne kit as distinct from German or Allied paratrooper equipment.

The set includes multiple figures in varied combat poses along with their individual small arms and equipment, ideal for populating a diorama depicting the confused, multi-national fighting around the Anzio beachhead.

A niche but historically rich subject for collectors and diorama builders looking to move beyond the more commonly modelled German and Allied forces of the Italian campaign.
