About this kit
The M4 Sherman composite hull combined a cast upper front hull with a welded rear hull, a hybrid construction adopted to speed production while retaining the ballistic advantages of cast armour at the front. This kit depicts a composite-hull Sherman as deployed in the Pacific Theatre of Operations (PTO), where US Marine and Army tank battalions used the type to support island-hopping campaigns against deeply entrenched Japanese defences.
Dragon's 1/35 tooling captures the distinctive rounded contours of the cast hull front alongside the flat welded rear plates, with slide-moulded detail on the hull castings and turret, and includes the deep-wading exhaust extensions and additional stowage typical of Pacific-service Shermans.
Workable track links, a full set of road wheels, and decals for Pacific theatre marking options round out the package, letting the model be finished as it appeared supporting Marine landings against Japanese island garrisons.
A great pick for collectors wanting to represent the often-overlooked Pacific side of the Sherman's service history alongside the more commonly modelled European examples.
