The Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf.J was a dedicated command tank variant of the Panzer III, built to control German armoured formations from within the tank column itself. To avoid drawing enemy fire, its main armament was replaced with a shortened, non-functional dummy gun barrel (Tarnprofil, hence "Tp"), freeing internal space for the extra radio sets a command crew needed, while the vehicle otherwise retained the running gear and armour of an early-production Ausf.J gun tank.

This Dragon "2 in 1" kit gives modellers genuine choice: build the specialised Pz.Bef.Wg.III command tank with its dummy Tp barrel and extended aerial fittings, or assemble the same hull as a standard gun-armed Ausf.J(Tp)/Ausf.J with the real KwK 37 main gun, using Dragon's slide-mould parts to capture crisp early-production hull and turret detail either way.
