The StuG III Ausf.F/8 was an up-gunned German assault gun mounting the long 7.5cm StuK 40 L/48 cannon on a lengthened Panzer III-derived hull, giving it the punch to defeat most Allied tanks it encountered. This release depicts an early-production F/8 as deployed to Italy in 1943, where StuG units played a key role countering the Allied invasion of Sicily and the mainland following the Italian armistice.
