About this kit
The Sherman III was the British Army's designation for the American M4A2 diesel-engined Sherman, supplied to Commonwealth forces in significant numbers under Lend-Lease. This kit represents an early-production DV (Direct Vision) hull, featuring the early driver's and co-driver's direct-vision slits that were later deleted in favour of periscopes only, an identifying feature well known to tank spotters and modellers alike.
Built as one of Dragon's Smart Kit releases, this model uses a simplified, engineering-optimised parts breakdown for a more straightforward build while retaining Dragon's hallmark slide-mould surface and mechanical detail, including the twin-diesel engine deck louvres unique to the M4A2/Sherman III.
The kit includes finely detailed suspension, hull and turret parts along with decals for British and Commonwealth unit markings, suitable for North Africa or early Normandy-era finishes.
A great entry point for modellers wanting Dragon-level detail with a more approachable build, this Sherman III DV Early Production kit suits both Sherman specialists and general WWII armour collectors.
