About this kit
The Sherman Firefly was a British field modification of the American M4 Sherman, up-gunned with the potent 17-pounder anti-tank gun to give Commonwealth forces a tank capable of taking on late-war German armour such as the Panther and Tiger. This kit depicts the Firefly Ic variant built on the welded-hull Sherman I chassis, distinguished from riveted-hull versions by its smooth, welded upper hull plates.
Dragon's kit reproduces the Firefly's distinctive lengthened 17-pounder barrel with its counterweight, the rear turret stowage bin needed to house the radio displaced by the larger gun, and the modified hull machine-gun mount, all rendered with slide-mould surface detail.
Included are finely moulded running gear, turret and hull components plus decals for accurate British and Commonwealth unit markings from the North-West Europe campaign.
A must-have for British armour collectors, this Firefly Ic Welded Hull kit builds into one of the most historically significant Allied tanks of 1944-45.
