The Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.J was the final and most simplified production model of Germany's most numerous WWII tank, introduced in 1944 to speed manufacture as the German war economy came under increasing strain. This kit depicts a mid-production Ausf.J built between August and September 1944, reflecting wartime simplifications such as the deletion of the electric turret-traverse motor in favour of a manual system, and a reduced number of turret pistol ports.

Dragon reproduces the Ausf.J's distinctive features with slide-mould precision, including the fine wire-mesh Thoma shield side skirts that replaced the earlier solid armour Schurzen, plus the exhaust and idler-wheel changes typical of this production block and crisply moulded hull and turret detail.

The kit includes finely detailed running gear, a full complement of decals for period-accurate German armour markings, and parts allowing modellers to match the specific mid-1944 production features referenced in the title.

A strong choice for modellers building a late-war German armour collection or a Normandy or Eastern Front diorama, this Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.J captures the Wehrmacht's workhorse tank in its final, most austere form.
